Trump's Aide Congratulates New FBI Director Kash Patel in Bollywood Style

Kashyap ‘Kash’ Patel, a strong supporter of former U.S. President Donald Trump, has been chosen as the first Indian-origin Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The U.S. Senate, which is mostly controlled by Republicans, approved him with a close vote of 51-49 on Thursday. Two Republican senators, Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins, joined all the Democrats in voting against Patel. However, he still won the position. Some people strongly opposed his appointment, and one Democratic senator even said outside the FBI office in Washington, D.C., that Patel’s leadership could bring trouble to the agency.

After Patel’s selection, Dan Scavino, who works as the White House Deputy Chief of Staff, congratulated him in a unique way. Scavino posted a video on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), showing a famous Bollywood dance scene from the movie Bajirao Mastani. In the video, actor Ranveer Singh is dancing to the song Malhari, but Patel’s face was edited onto the actor’s body. The song has strong beats, and its words roughly mean, "Let’s celebrate… We have defeated our enemies." Scavino wrote in the post, "Congratulations to the new Director of the FBI, @Kash_Patel." The 47-second video became very popular, getting more than three million views and over 10,000 likes in a short time.

After being confirmed, Patel thanked former President Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi for supporting him. He promised to bring back the trust of the people in the FBI, which he believes has been weakened due to politics. In a post on X, he wrote, "The FBI has a great history—from the brave officers in the past to protecting our country after 9/11. People deserve an FBI that is honest, responsible, and fair. Politics has damaged trust in our justice system—but that ends today." He also promised to help honest police officers do their job properly, adding, "Good officers should be free to do their work—I will rebuild trust in the FBI."

Patel was born in New York in 1980 to Gujarati parents. He spent some of his childhood in East Africa before returning to the U.S. for school. He studied at Garden City High School in Long Island and later went to the University of Richmond for his college degree. He then traveled to the United Kingdom to study law, earning a law degree and a special certificate in International Law from University College London.

Patel has worked in many important government jobs before. He was the National Security Advisor and also worked as a top lawyer for the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI), where he helped with major decisions about the country’s safety.

Now, as the Director of the FBI, Patel will have a big responsibility. Many people will be watching his leadership to see how he handles the agency and works to rebuild trust among the public.
