Vicky Kaushal’s movie ‘Chhaava’ is now tax-free in Goa, after already being tax-free in Madhya Pradesh. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant shared this news on X (Twitter) on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s 395th birth anniversary. The film is about Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, who was the brave son of Shivaji Maharaj. He fought against the Mughals and Portuguese to protect his people, land, and beliefs.
CM Pramod Sawant said he is happy to make ‘Chhaava’ tax-free in Goa. He said the movie shows the bravery and sacrifice of Sambhaji Maharaj. Earlier, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis also spoke about the film. He said many people gave good reviews about ‘Chhaava’ and that the film respects history. Maharashtra had removed entertainment tax in 2017, but Fadnavis said they will still try to make the film reach more people.
The movie is doing very well in theatres. It has earned ₹197.75 crore and will soon cross ₹200 crore. Laxman Utekar directed ‘Chhaava’. Vicky Kaushal plays Sambhaji Maharaj, Rashmika Mandanna plays Yesubai Bhosale, and Akshaye Khanna plays Aurangzeb. Other actors include Diana Penty, Divya Dutta, Viineet Kumar Siingh, and Ashutosh Rana.
With ‘Chhaava’ now tax-free in Goa and Madhya Pradesh, more people can watch it and learn about Sambhaji Maharaj’s great story. The movie is getting a lot of love from the audience and may become one of the biggest hits of the year.
