Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was unhappy with Air India after he got a broken seat on his flight from Bhopal to Delhi. He shared his complaint on social media, saying that he expected better service from Air India after the Tata Group took over, but he was disappointed. Chouhan said he booked a ticket on Air India flight AI436 and was given seat 8C. When he sat down, he found that the seat was broken and very uncomfortable. When he asked the airline staff about it, they told him that the management already knew about the problem and that the seat should not have been sold.
Chouhan also said that his seat was not the only one that was broken; there were many such seats on the flight. Some passengers asked him to take another seat, but he refused because he did not want to trouble someone else. Since the journey from Bhopal to Delhi was only one and a half hours, he decided to stay in the same seat. He also said that charging full ticket price for bad seats was not fair to passengers.
He added that he had hoped Air India's service would improve under Tata, but he realized that was not true. He said he did not mind the discomfort, but it was wrong to make people pay full price for seats that were not good. He also asked if Air India would fix such problems in the future or continue to take advantage of passengers who need to travel quickly.
After his post, Air India replied and said sorry for the trouble. The airline said it was looking into the matter and would take action to stop such problems in the future. They also asked Chouhan to share a time when they could talk to him about it.
The Congress party used this issue to criticize the government, saying that both train and air travelers are facing problems. They said people complain and share their issues, but no action is taken. They sarcastically added that now that a BJP leader had faced the problem, maybe something would be done.
Air India's service has been questioned many times since the Tata Group took over. Many passengers thought things would get better, but there are still complaints about flight delays, technical problems, and bad seats. Chouhan's experience has again brought attention to these problems, and people are asking if Air India will really improve its service or not.
