Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sonia Gandhi was taken to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi on Thursday morning because of stomach pain. A team of doctors is checking her health, and she is under care, sources said.

The hospital said Sonia Gandhi came at 8:30 AM for a regular check-up. Doctors have said she is stable, but they are keeping her under watch to make sure she is fine.

Sonia Gandhi, who is 78 years old, was last seen in public on February 13 during the Budget session in Rajya Sabha.

On February 10, Sonia Gandhi asked the government to do a new population count quickly. She said that 14 crore people are not getting food benefits because the government is still using old data from 2011.

Speaking in Rajya Sabha, she said the Food Security Law, started in 2013 by the UPA government, helps feed India’s poor. She said that a new count is needed so more needy people can get help.

Right now, Sonia Gandhi is in the hospital, and doctors are watching her health. More news about her condition will come soon.
