Odisha: 11 students injured as vehicle overturns on way to exam

Eleven students in Odisha’s Kendrapara district got hurt when their vehicle lost control and fell into a canal on Friday morning. They were going to their school exam when the accident happened. All the students were from Vivekananda High School in Baghamari and were traveling to Naga Narayan High School in Khamara Sahi to give their Class 10 board exam.

Police said the vehicle was moving fast when it hit a man on a bicycle. After that, the driver lost control, and the vehicle fell into a roadside canal. People living nearby heard the noise and ran to help the students. Many of them were scared and in pain. The locals quickly called the police and an ambulance. Soon, the police and doctors reached the place and took the injured students to Talchua Hospital.

Luckily, no one had serious injuries. Most students had small wounds and bruises. Some students, even after getting hurt, decided to go to the exam center and write their exam after getting first aid.

This accident happened on the first day of the Class 10 board exam, which is held every year by the Odisha Board of Secondary Education. Many students across the state were giving their exams that day. Officials made sure that the injured students got help so they could focus on their exams.

Police have started looking into what caused the accident. They are checking if the driver was driving too fast or if there was another reason. They are also finding out if the man on the bicycle is safe. Many parents and teachers are now worried about students’ safety while traveling for exams. Some people are asking for safer transport so that such accidents do not happen again. This incident has made people think about the need for careful driving and better safety rules.
