The CBSE Class 12 Physics exam for 2025 was held today from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM in many exam centers across India. The paper tested students on their knowledge, problem-solving skills, and how well they could apply what they learned. Some students found it easy to manage, but many had trouble with long numerical problems and tricky multiple-choice questions.
Teachers who checked the paper said it followed the CBSE sample paper and had five sections—A to E. Section A had 16 MCQs, Section B had five short-answer questions, Section C had seven questions of three marks each, Section D had two case study questions, and Section E had three long-answer questions. There was no full choice, but some questions had options.
Renuka Devi Kakarla, a Physics teacher at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad, said the paper was of medium to high difficulty and was long. She said some questions were direct, but others had many small parts, making them take more time. She also said students who wanted above 95% marks would find it hard. Ragini Srivastava from Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Ghaziabad, said the paper was tough for average students as it tested both knowledge and problem-solving. Some questions in Sections B and C were from the deleted syllabus, which confused students.
Different sets had different difficulty levels. Teachers said Set 1 was the easiest, Set 2 was of medium level, and Set 3 was the hardest and took more time. Section A and Section E were simpler, while Sections B, C, and D were more difficult. The MCQ section had a mix of direct and tricky questions. Some MCQs from Modern Physics were easy, but those from Moving Charges and Magnetism needed a strong understanding. Surender Puli, a Physics teacher at Vidyagyan School, Sitapur, said that MCQs in all sets were tricky. Many students also said that one MCQ was from the deleted syllabus, which confused them.
The two-mark numerical questions in Section B were mostly easy and gave students a chance to score marks quickly. This section had questions from Ohm’s Law, Ampere’s Circuital Law, and Lenz’s Law. Section C had more difficult questions based on formulas and circuit problems. It had topics like Capacitors, Kirchhoff’s Laws, and Ray Optics. It needed step-by-step solving and took a lot of time.
Students got two case study questions in Section D—one from Modern Physics and another from Capacitors and Semiconductor Electronics. The Modern Physics case study was easier, but the Capacitance question was harder as it needed deep thinking and the use of many concepts. Section E had long-answer questions, and these were harder than in past years. These questions needed problem-solving and logical thinking. Many students found them tough because they had long calculations from topics like Current Electricity, Magnetism, and Optics. Surender Puli said Section E was simple but took a lot of time to finish.
Students had mixed feelings about the exam. Priyal Arora from Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Ghaziabad, found the MCQs very difficult and was surprised to see a question from the deleted syllabus. She also thought the paper was long and took a lot of time. Praneel Munshi from Shiv Nadar School, Noida, said Set 3 had too many tricky questions, which made it hard to manage time. Geeta, a student from Vidyagyan School, said Section B was long, and Section C had more concept-based questions. But she felt the paper was moderate and hoped to get good marks. Shivam Kole from Shiv Nadar School, Noida, said some expected questions from Optics were missing, which made the exam surprising.
Overall, the CBSE Class 12 Physics exam for 2025 had medium to tough questions. Students who had a strong understanding and good time management found it easier. But many students struggled because of long numericals and tricky MCQs. Most students were able to finish the paper, but few had time left to check their answers.
