Veer Pahariya responds to critics questioning his privileged background

Veer Pahariya, who made his big Bollywood debut alongside Akshay Kumar in Sky Force, has been facing a lot of online trolling. People have been making fun of him with memes and comments about his viral dance moves in the film. Recently, in an interview with ABP Entertainment LIVE, Veer addressed the criticism he has been getting, especially about his privileged background.

When asked how he feels about people questioning his family background, Veer responded, “What can I do? I am lucky to be born into such a family. My dream has always been to become an actor. So, what should I do to make them happy? Should I kill myself and be reborn?” He explained that he works hard and dedicates himself to his craft, hoping that his efforts will show people he deserves to be in the film industry. He also added, "Maybe people spreading hate haven’t seen the film yet. I might not have been able to win their hearts with this film, but I will try with my next one. I will do my best to turn hate into love.”

Veer also spoke about the viral dance step from the Sky Force song "Rang," which became the subject of many memes online. Fans joked about how his moves looked like "backbenchers showing the Earth's movement around the Sun." Instead of getting upset, Veer positively took the memes. He shared that he had been rehearsing the dance for three and a half days, and the viral clip was taken from the final shot of the sequence. Veer mentioned that he has flat feet, so the dance was painful for him. He had to balance most of his body weight on one leg, and by the time they shot that take, it was his 12th or 13th try. Despite the pain, he never expected that particular move to go viral.

Sky Force is an action drama based on the Sargodha airbase attack during the 1965 Indo-Pak war, which was India's first airstrike. The movie, directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, also stars Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur. The film has been well-received and has made ₹104 crore at the domestic box office in just eight days since its release.
