Preity Zinta slams Kerala Congress with "Shame on You" over loan claim.

Bollywood actress Preity Zinta has strongly denied the claim that she got a ₹18 crore loan canceled by giving her social media accounts to the BJP. She said the news is false and blamed the Kerala Congress for spreading lies about her.

On Monday, the official X (Twitter) page of Kerala Congress shared a post saying that Preity Zinta gave her social media accounts to BJP and, in return, got her ₹18 crore loan removed. They also said that because of this, the bank collapsed, and now depositors are struggling to get their money.

On Tuesday, Preity Zinta replied and called this claim a lie. She said that she handles her social media accounts by herself and accused Congress of spreading fake news. She wrote that no one canceled her loan and that she was shocked to see a political party using her name and picture to spread gossip.

She also said that she did take a loan in the past, but she paid it back completely more than 10 years ago. She hoped that this statement would clear all doubts. After her post, X added a note under the Kerala Congress post saying that Preity Zinta has denied the claim. The note also had a link to her statement.

An hour later, Preity Zinta also criticized journalist Sucheta Dalal, who had reported about the loan being canceled. She said that some journalists spread false news without checking the facts. She wrote that many well-known journalists have shared wrong stories about her in the past but never corrected them or apologized. She also said that she has spent a lot of money fighting legal cases because of such false reports.

She directly called out Sucheta Dalal and said she would not stay silent anymore. She wrote that if the journalist did not respect her name, then she would not respect hers either. She asked the journalist to call her before writing such news and said that she had worked hard to build her reputation. She made it clear that she would no longer ignore such lies.

The bank involved in this issue, New India Cooperative Bank, is facing a big financial crisis. On February 13, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) took strong action against it. The RBI said the bank was in serious trouble and banned it from giving new loans, renewing old loans, taking new deposits, or selling its assets. The bank’s Board of Directors was also removed for 12 months, and a former SBI (State Bank of India) officer was appointed as the new head.

To help depositors, RBI announced that people can withdraw up to ₹25,000 from their accounts from February 27. After checking the bank’s financial situation, RBI decided that every customer can take out ₹25,000 from February 27, 2025. This will help more than half of the customers take out all their money, while others can withdraw up to ₹25,000 from their accounts.

People can take their money from the bank’s branches or ATMs, but no one can withdraw more than ₹25,000 or their total account balance, whichever is lower.

Preity Zinta has completely denied the claim about her loan and criticized both Congress and the media for spreading false news. At the same time, RBI’s strong action against the troubled New India Cooperative Bank is expected to give some relief to worried customers.
