Two young women from Hyderabad have been living in isolation with their mother's dead body for over a week, as they struggled with deep sadness after her passing. The 45-year-old mother passed away in her sleep on January 23, but her two daughters, aged 25 and 22, didn’t tell anyone immediately. They noticed their mother’s pulse, breathing, and heartbeat had stopped but stayed at home, feeling too depressed to seek help.
Their home was somewhat isolated, and neighbors didn't notice any unusual smells coming from it. On the evening of January 31, the two women went to a local MLA's office, saying they didn’t have enough money for their mother’s funeral. The MLA's office directed them to the police.
Upon reaching the police, the officers helped by sending the woman's body to a government hospital for a post-mortem. The daughters, who both worked as salesgirls, studied up to the Intermediate and Degree levels. Their father had left the family years ago, and no one in their family was close enough to help during this difficult time.
The police gave them counseling to help them cope with the grief and trauma they were experiencing.
