Shiv Shakti actor Yogesh Mahajan, 44, dies of cardiac arrest, Suzanne Bernert remembers

Television actor Yogesh Mahajan, known for his role as Shukracharya in the ongoing show Shiv Shakti - Tap Tyag Tandav, tragically passed away at the age of 44 due to a cardiac arrest. The actor died on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in Mumbai, leaving behind his wife and seven-year-old son.

According to reports, Yogesh’s sudden absence from the show raised concern among the crew members. They tried to contact him multiple times but were unable to reach him. Worried, the team went to his home in Umergaon, where they found him unconscious. Yogesh was immediately taken to the hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.

In a heartfelt statement, Yogesh’s family shared their grief, saying, “It is with profound grief we would like to inform you about the sudden and untimely demise of our beloved Yogesh Mahajan. He left for his heavenly abode due to cardiac arrest on January 19, 2025. This unexpected loss has come as a devastating shock to the entire family, friends, and well-wishers." His last rites were held on Monday morning in Mumbai.

Yogesh's co-star Suzanne Bernert, who worked with him on Shiv Shakti, expressed her sadness and admiration for him. She shared, “I can’t believe it...such a wonderful human being and actor. We had intense scenes together, but off-camera, it was always great fun! He was always positive, and I’m shocked to hear this news while sitting in Hyderabad.” Suzanne also recalled traveling with him and having deep conversations, adding, “I’m sad we lost touch through work. It’s normal for one to move on from project to project, but the bond stays. Om Shanti my friend, and I’m so sorry for his family.”

Yogesh Mahajan had a successful career in television, featuring in popular shows like Jai Shri Krishna (2008), Adaalat (2010), Devon Ke Dev Mahadev (2011), and many others. He also appeared in series like Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran, Ayushmann Bhava, Antarpravaah, Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat, and Savdhaan India: Crime Alert. Apart from television, Yogesh also acted in films such as Kalubai Pavli Navsala and Kanbai Mahi Navsachi. His role as Shukracharya in Shiv Shakti - Tap Tyag Tandav was one of his recent and most notable performances.

Yogesh Mahajan's sudden passing has left his family, friends, and fans in shock, and his presence on screen will be deeply missed by all.
