Sanam Teri Kasam Directors Respond to Sequel Controversy

After the success of Sanam Teri Kasam, a movie starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, the directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru decided to make a sequel. Fans were happy to hear the news. But soon, a problem came up when the producer of the movie, Deepak Mukut, said that he owns the rights to the film and can make decisions about a sequel.

In a recent interview, Vinay Sapru talked about the situation. He said that there is no bad feeling between him, Radhika Rao, and Deepak Mukut. The confusion started because of interviews and media reports. He explained that they all still work as a team and that there are no problems among them.

Sapru also shared that Sanam Teri Kasam was originally planned with two parts, but they couldn’t make the second part at first. Now, with the fans excited, they are thinking about making the sequel. However, he made it clear that nothing has been officially announced yet.

“We haven’t thought about a sequel until recently,” Sapru said. “There will be another love story coming in 2026, but we haven’t announced it yet,” he explained. Sapru also said he would never act selfishly and make an announcement without proper planning.

Sapru also spoke kindly about his relationship with Deepak Mukut. He said Mukut is a dear friend, and they even had dinner together the previous night. He confirmed that Deepak Mukut is part of the team, and they all want to continue working together.

In another interview, Deepak Mukut had said that he owns the rights to the film and has the right to make the sequel. He also mentioned that he had announced the sequel in 2024 with Harshvardhan Rane in the lead role, but the directors had not spoken to him about it yet. He added that no decision about the director had been made.

For those who didn’t know, Sanam Teri Kasam was re-released in theaters on February 7, 2025, almost nine years after it was first shown. Fans enjoyed the movie once again, which made them even more excited about the sequel.
