A woman constable from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) is getting a lot of attention after a video of her patrolling the platforms at New Delhi Railway Station went viral. This happened after a deadly stampede at the station. The RPF India account shared the video, praising Constable Reena for doing her job while carrying her baby.
In the video, Constable Reena is in her uniform, walking on the busy platform with her baby in a carrier attached to her chest. The post said, “She serves, she nurtures, she does it all—A mother, a warrior, standing tall. Constable Reena from 16BN/RPSF doing her duty while carrying her child, representing all mothers who balance work and motherhood every day.”
While some people praised her for being brave, others were worried about the safety of her child. One person asked, "Should she risk her kid's safety, especially after what happened in Delhi and Patna? RPF has offices at all stations, so they could create a small area for staff with kids to bring them to work."
Another person said, “She has other options. She chose to do this.”
A third person said, “You should be ashamed to call this NariShakti. The real NariShakti was shown when she gave birth. What she is doing is unfair to her job and putting her baby in danger.”
This video became popular after the stampede at New Delhi Railway Station on Saturday, during the Mahakumbh rush. At least 18 people died and many others were injured in the incident. The stampede has raised concerns about safety and crowd control at the station.
