Rhea Chakraborty discusses understanding bipolar disorder in Honey Singh's life

Famous rapper and singer Yo Yo Honey Singh has often spoken about his journey battling bipolar disorder. Recently, Rhea Chakraborty shared her understanding of the mental health condition during a heartfelt discussion about the most challenging period of the rapper's life.

On January 15, Rhea took to Instagram to share the promo of an upcoming episode of her chat show. The episode featured Yo Yo Honey Singh and director Mozez Singh as guests. During their candid conversation, Honey Singh opened up about being a “worst-case patient” of bipolar disorder. In a moment of gratitude and encouragement, Rhea responded, “Thank you for surviving,” as she praised the rapper's resilience.

Honey Singh, in turn, added a playful yet profound comment by saying, “Akbar-The Great is meeting Alexander-The Great,” referring to himself and Rhea as two strong individuals. The statement made Rhea smile as they shared a warm high-five, calling themselves “two fighters.”

Rhea further revealed, “Main bipolar disorder ko kaafi closely samajhti hoon” (I understand bipolar disorder very closely). She stressed how important it is to truly grasp what this mental health issue means. Honey Singh agreed with her and pointed out that the country lacks enough doctors who truly understand the complexities of this condition.

During the discussion, the rapper shared how he finally found a doctor who understood him and referred to this doctor as a “magician.” Reflecting on the toughest phase of his life, he said, “It’s okay to not be okay,” and expressed relief and gratitude for the support he received.

For those who may not know, Rhea’s ex-boyfriend, the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, also struggled with bipolar disorder. Back in 2020, his therapist, Susan Walker, shared in an interview that Sushant was dealing with this severe mental illness. She explained that bipolar disorder can cause symptoms like extreme anxiety, deep depression, disordered thinking, and even paranoia during episodes.

This episode of Rhea’s chat show serves as a strong reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and the courage it takes to share such personal experiences.
