Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his home on Saturday. At the same time, her ministers went out to check broken roads and unfinished projects in the city. During the meeting, Rekha Gupta thanked PM Modi for giving her the chance to serve the people of Delhi as Chief Minister. She said she felt proud to be a "daughter of Delhi" and promised to work hard for the city.
Before going to meet PM Modi, Rekha Gupta came to the balcony of her home in Shalimar Bagh and greeted the people who had gathered to see her. She used a microphone to speak to them and said she would thank PM Modi on behalf of all the women of Delhi for making her the Chief Minister. She reminded everyone that on her very first day in office, her government had approved the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which would help people get medical treatment. She promised that she would not waste even a single day and would work with full effort for the people of Delhi. She said her goal was to make "Viksit Delhi," as planned by PM Modi, and asked everyone to work together for the city's progress. She ended her speech with chants of "Jai Shri Ram" and "Bharat Mata Ki Jai."
After the meeting with PM Modi, Rekha Gupta had a discussion with officials from the Public Works Department (PWD) about the city's roads and traffic problems. She gave them instructions to fix dug-up roads, broken streets, and traffic jams as soon as possible. PWD Minister Parvesh Verma visited the Barapullah Phase-3 project, which has been delayed for a long time. He assured that pending payments and other approvals that were slowing the project would be cleared quickly.
While talking to the media near Sarai Kale Khan, Parvesh Verma said that he had ordered the removal of illegal shops and structures from Delhi roads. He also said that road builders must make sure that newly built roads last at least 10 years so that they do not need repairs again and again.
In another visit, Law and Labour Minister Kapil Mishra went to Khajuri Khas crossing in North East Delhi. He blamed the previous government for the poor condition of the roads in the city. He said that most roads were either broken, full of dust, or had potholes, making it difficult for people to travel. He promised that under the new government, all ministers and officials would work day and night to repair roads quickly. He assured the public that the government would work without stopping until all roads in Delhi were fixed and made safe for travel.
