Rajiv Thakur Talks About Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover Feud

Actor and comedian Rajiv Thakur, currently appearing in The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 2, recently shared his thoughts about the well-known feud between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover. Thakur, who is also known for his role in IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, spoke openly during an interview with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel.

When asked about the once-heated disagreement between Kapil and Sunil, Rajiv dismissed the idea that their fallout was entirely negative. He said, “Who doesn’t have fights? If their fight was so bad, how come they’re still shooting together and hanging out today? Yes, money can make people work together, but on the set, if you look closely, you’ll see something genuine. They enjoy each other’s company.”

Thakur further revealed that even after the cameras stop rolling, Kapil and Sunil often sit together and chat, proving that they have moved past their differences. He also pointed out how neither of their careers took a hit after parting ways. “When Sunil wasn’t on the show, Kapil wasn’t losing anything, and vice versa. Their bond isn’t fake—it’s real.”

For those unaware, Sunil Grover became famous for his characters like Gutthi and Dr. Mashoor Gulati on The Kapil Sharma Show. However, in 2017, things took a bad turn. While the team was returning to India from Australia, Kapil Sharma, reportedly under the influence, allegedly hit Sunil Grover during a heated argument. After this incident, Grover decided to leave the show for good. Following his exit, other popular co-stars like Ali Asgar and Chandan Prabhakar also stepped away from the show.

After Sunil's departure, Kapil Sharma publicly apologized on social media. In one of his heartfelt tweets, he wrote: “Paji Sunil Grover, sorry if I hurt you unintentionally. You know very well how much I love you. I am also upset. Love and regards always :)”

Even though Sunil did not return to the show for several years, the two comedians surprised everyone when they reunited on The Great Indian Kapil Show after a gap of seven years. Throughout Season 2, the duo often exchanged light-hearted jokes, subtly referencing their past fight.

Fans are now excited as The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3 has been announced. Viewers are hopeful that the original cast, including Kapil Sharma, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Rajiv Thakur, and Archana Puran Singh, will come together once again to deliver more laughter-filled episodes.

The journey of Kapil and Sunil proves that friendships can mend and laughter can truly heal past wounds.
