Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to the 40 CRPF personnel who lost their lives in the Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir in 2019. On the sixth anniversary of this tragic event, both leaders remembered the martyrs and acknowledged their sacrifice for the nation.
PM Modi expressed his deep respect for the brave soldiers, stating, "Homage to the courageous heroes we lost in Pulwama in 2019. The coming generations will never forget their sacrifice and their unwavering dedication to the nation." His heartfelt message was shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, reminding the country of the sacrifices made to protect India.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid his respects and emphasized the government's firm stance against terrorism. In a post on X, he wrote, "On behalf of the grateful nation, I pay my heartfelt tribute to the soldiers who were martyred in the cowardly terror attack in Pulwama on this day in 2019." Shah underlined that terrorism remains humanity's biggest enemy and that the world is now united in the fight against it.
He further mentioned that the Narendra Modi government is fully committed to eradicating terrorism from the country. "Be it through a surgical strike or an air strike, the Modi government is determined to destroy terrorists by carrying out a campaign with a 'zero-tolerance' policy against them," he said. His words highlighted the government's proactive approach to dealing with threats to national security.
The Pulwama attack occurred on February 14, 2019, when a suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden car into a bus carrying CRPF personnel. The attack resulted in the tragic loss of 40 soldiers and sent shockwaves across the country. In response to the attack, India launched an airstrike targeting terrorist camps in Balakot, Pakistan, as a strong message against terrorism.
The memory of the Pulwama martyrs continues to live on in the hearts of millions of Indians. Their sacrifice serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by terrorism and the importance of unity and resilience in the face of such threats.
