Plane With 80 Onboard Overturns at Toronto Airport, 18 Injured

A Delta Air Lines plane with 80 people onboard crashed while landing at Toronto’s main airport on Monday. The plane flipped over, and at least 18 people were hurt, but no one died. The flight, Endeavor Air Flight 4819, had 76 passengers and four crew members. It was flying from Minneapolis, USA, to Toronto. The plane crashed while landing in the afternoon, but the cause of the crash is not known yet.

The airport’s fire chief said the runway was dry, and there was no strong wind during the landing. He also said that it was too early to know what caused the crash.

Of the 18 people who were injured, three were badly hurt. These included a child, a man in his 60s, and a woman in her 40s. They were taken to the hospital by ambulance or helicopter.

Videos from people at the scene showed passengers leaving the upside-down plane. The wind was very strong, and snow was blowing around. Firefighters sprayed water on the plane, and smoke came out from the plane. Some passengers were still inside as the firefighters worked.

The airport stopped all flights after the crash, but flights started again around 5:00 PM. The airport warned passengers to expect delays. The airport manager said that the emergency teams worked quickly and saved everyone from the plane. Many people were able to meet their families soon after.

A passenger on the flight posted a video from the ground. He said, “Our plane crashed, it’s upside down,” but added that most people were okay.

Delta Airlines confirmed the crash, saying there were no deaths. The company’s CEO also sent his support to those affected by the crash.

The weather in Toronto had been very cold, with strong winds and snow because of a big snowstorm on Sunday. This made the airport very busy with many flights.

Canada’s Transport Minister and Ontario’s Premier shared their relief that no one died. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is investigating the crash, and the US Federal Aviation Administration is also helping with the investigation.

This crash happened after other serious accidents in North America. Recently, a US Army helicopter crashed into a passenger plane, killing 67 people. There was also a crash in Philadelphia where seven people died.
