Ranveer Allahbadia, a popular influencer, has been facing a lot of criticism after making controversial comments on the show India's Got Latent, hosted by Samay Raina. The remarks quickly went viral and sparked outrage on social media, with many people calling for him to be canceled. This situation got worse when rumors began swirling about his relationship with Nikki Sharma, which seemed to have ended.
The rumors started after reports that Ranveer and Nikki unfollowed each other on Instagram, leading fans to speculate that they had broken up. Screenshots showing their unfollowing actions went viral, fueling the breakup gossip even more. To add to the speculation, Nikki shared a cryptic post on social media that seemed to hint at rejecting negative energy. The post read, "Your body doesn’t just reject food; it also rejects energy. If your body starts rejecting certain places, people, or things, trust it and listen." This made many wonder if it was related to her relationship with Ranveer.
However, just when it seemed like their relationship might be over, Ranveer and Nikki both followed each other back on Instagram, leaving fans confused about what was happening.
The breakup rumors come after a shocking incident a few months ago, when Ranveer and Nikki were on a vacation in Goa. During their trip, they had a near-death experience when they nearly drowned. Ranveer shared on social media, saying, “We’re perfectly fine and well now. But yesterday at 6:00 pm or so, my girlfriend and I had to be rescued from a bit of a situation.” Fortunately, they were both okay after the scary event.
The main reason Ranveer is currently in the spotlight is due to the backlash he received for his comments on India's Got Latent. During the show, Ranveer asked a contestant a very inappropriate question: "Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day or join them to finish it once and for all?" This comment was widely criticized for being disgusting and offensive. Many people on social media called for him to be canceled, with some even asking if he would lose the "Disruptor of the Year" award he had received from India’s Prime Minister.
Several celebrities, including B Praak, Imtiaz Ali, Mukesh Khanna, and Mika Singh, also spoke out against Ranveer and the show, calling for action to be taken. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) demanded an immediate ban on the show to stop the spread of what they called "damaging content."
Along with Ranveer, other judges on the show included social media influencer Apoorva Makhija, YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, and comedian Jaspreet Singh. Despite Ranveer’s public apology, a complaint was filed against him, Apoorva, Samay Raina, and the show's organizers for using abusive language and promoting obscenity.
As a result of the controversy, YouTube decided to remove the entire episode of India's Got Latent. Kanchan Gupta, Senior Advisor at the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, confirmed the removal, writing on X, "The ‘India Has Latent’ episode on @YouTube with obscene and perverse comments by Ranveer Allahbadia has been blocked following Government of India orders."
