Naga Chaitanya recently shared his thoughts on his separation from actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The two stars, who tied the knot in 2017, decided to part ways in 2021. In a candid conversation on the podcast Raw Talks with VK, Naga Chaitanya revealed that their decision to divorce was mutual and made with respect for each other.
Speaking about the separation, the actor emphasized that both he and Samantha have moved forward gracefully and are living fulfilling lives. "We wanted to go our ways. For our reasons, we have taken this decision, and we respect each other. We are moving on in our lives, in our way," Naga said, hoping for privacy from both the media and the public.
He expressed disappointment about how the media turned their personal decision into entertainment. "What more explanation is needed, I don’t understand. We have asked for privacy. Please respect us and give us privacy on this matter. But unfortunately, it became a headline. It became a topic of gossip. It became entertainment."
Despite the media frenzy, Naga Chaitanya maintained that he holds no grudges. He acknowledged Samantha's grace in moving forward and shared that he has also found love again, stating that he is genuinely happy with where he is in life. "I’ve moved on with so much grace. She has moved on with so much grace. We are leading our own lives. I have found love again. I’m so happy. We have so much respect for each other," he shared.
The Thank You actor expressed frustration over being treated unfairly for a personal life decision, asking, "It’s not like it’s only happening in my life, so why am I treated like a criminal?"
Naga Chaitanya also reflected on the seriousness of the decision, revealing that it was not taken lightly. "It was for the betterment of whoever was involved in the marriage. Whatever the decision was, it was a very conscious decision after much thought and with a lot of respect for the other person. I’m saying this because it’s a very sensitive topic for me."
Coming from a "broken family" himself, Naga explained that he knows firsthand the impact of such situations. "I’m a child from a broken family, so I know what the experience is like. I will think 1,000 times before breaking a relationship because I know the repercussions... It was a mutual decision."
Although the separation was painful, Naga believes that life has a way of setting things right. "It’s not like it happened overnight for me to feel down. I feel bad that it happened, but everything happens for a reason. You build yourself, you keep progressing, and you will find the right path soon. That’s happened to me," he concluded.
Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s separation may have drawn media attention, but both stars continue to live their lives with dignity and respect for each other. Naga Chaitanya is now happily married to actress Sobhita Dhulipala.
