Mamta Kulkarni Finally Responds to Rs 10 Crore Mahamandaleshwar Allegation

Mamta Kulkarni, the famous actress from the 90s, recently spoke about her journey into spirituality. She took sanyas (renunciation) at the Mahakumbh and was appointed as the Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akhara. However, she was later removed from the position due to disagreements within the community. Recently, she addressed the claim that she paid Rs. 10 crore to become Mahamandaleshwar.

In a recent interview on Rajat Sharma's popular show Aap Ki Adalat, Mamta Kulkarni denied the rumors of paying Rs. 10 crore to gain the title of Mahamandaleshwar. She was emotional as she responded to these allegations. "Forget Rs. 10 crore; I don’t even have Rs. 1 crore with me. My bank accounts are sealed. I had to borrow Rs. 2 lakh from someone to offer as 'dakshina' to my guru when I became Mahamandaleshwar," she explained.

The actress also shared that her financial situation is not good. She mentioned that three of her apartments are in terrible condition, filled with termites, as they haven’t been touched for the last 23 years. "I can’t even explain the financial crisis I am going through," she said, making it clear that she was facing a tough time.

Mamta Kulkarni also talked about how her name was included in a case by a CBI official who wanted to become a commissioner. However, the actress pointed out that this official was later removed from his position and humiliated, and the High Court eventually dismissed the case.

When asked about her knowledge of the Vedas and whether she had studied the scriptures, Mamta explained that people shouldn’t show off their knowledge because it leads to arrogance. She shared that the title of Mahamandaleshwar is usually given to those who are knowledgeable about the scriptures, but it’s important to be humble. To prove her understanding, she recited a mantra from the Rigveda, which left the audience impressed and applauding.

For those who don’t know, Mamta Kulkarni became a spiritual leader, a Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akhada, at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. She performed a ritual called ‘pind daan’ at the Triveni Sangam Ghat and was named Yamai Mamta Nandgiri.

However, Mamta Kulkarni’s appointment as Mahamandaleshwar was later revoked by the head of Kinnar Akhada, Rishi Ajay Das. He claimed that Mamta was given the position without his knowledge and without following the proper traditions of the Akhada or the religion.
