Couple Returning from Maha Kumbh Dies as Car Hits Truck in UP: Police

A tragic road accident claimed the lives of a couple and left four others injured near Sahaypur village in the Chitrahat area on Monday. The victims were returning home from the Maha Kumbh when their car crashed into a truck, police officials said.

The deceased have been identified as Mahendra Pratap, aged 50, and his wife Bhuri Devi, aged 48. SHO Rudra Pratap Singh confirmed their deaths and mentioned that the injured passengers had been rushed to the hospital for treatment.

According to the police, all the people involved in the accident were from the Agra district. They were traveling back to their village, Rasulabad, after attending the religious event at Maha Kumbh.

The SHO also reported that the truck involved in the collision has been seized, and its driver has been detained for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
This unfortunate accident highlights the importance of safe driving practices and road vigilance, especially during long journeys. Authorities continue to monitor the situation and offer assistance to the affected families.
