Chaos at Patna Junction as Crowd Blocks Doors of Delhi-Bound Train

Chaos broke out at Patna Junction railway station on Monday morning as large crowds tried to board the 12393 Patna-Delhi Sampoorna Kranti Express. The rush was so intense that many passengers with reserved tickets could not board the train. Footage from the scene showed numerous people rushing into the train's coaches, while others struggled to get on, but were unsuccessful.

As the train began to move, many passengers with valid tickets were left stranded on the platform. Some of the train's doors were locked from the inside, and passengers banged on the doors, trying to get in. Despite the ongoing chaos, no police personnel were seen at the station to manage the crowd. Those who missed the train went to the station director's office to file complaints, but they found the gates locked there as well.

The East Coast Railway later explained that the crowd surge at Patna Junction was caused by the ongoing Maha Kumbh. The statement revealed that 45 passengers with reserved tickets missed the train, as some coaches were locked because of the rush.

To help those stranded, two special trains were arranged to take passengers to Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj. One left at 10 pm, and the other at 10:30 pm. The ticket fare for those traveling to Delhi was refunded, as confirmed by the railway authorities.
