In a shocking incident on Thursday morning, a security guard was shot and killed by two unidentified robbers on a bike in Bidar, in broad daylight. The attackers, who were wearing masks, stole a large sum of money after opening fire at the two security guards who were offloading cash from a van to refill an ATM.
The two guards were hired by a private security agency to refill ATMs for the State Bank of India (SBI). The robbers arrived on a motorcycle and immediately started shooting. One of the guards was killed on the spot, while the other was rushed to the hospital but later died from his injuries.
What’s even more surprising is that this attack happened right outside the SBI's main branch, which is located near the district court and the deputy commissioner's office—an area where many people usually pass by.
CCTV footage from the area captured the robbers trying to escape with a heavy chest full of cash. They fired at least seven shots at the guards, and while trying to flee, they dropped the cash box multiple times. The robbers had trouble carrying the box, and the pillion rider of the bike struggled before finally managing to lift it and place it on the bike’s petrol tank before speeding away.
Witnesses, who were terrified and ran for cover, saw the robbers struggling with the chest, but they eventually managed to get away with the stolen money. This incident has left the local community in shock.
