A deadly explosion took place today at an ordnance factory in Bhandara district, Maharashtra. The blast resulted in at least eight deaths and seven injuries, according to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who confirmed the tragic news shortly after the incident.
The explosion occurred around 10 AM in the RK Branch section of the factory. Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that about 14 workers were at the factory when the explosion happened, causing the roof of one of the units to collapse. District officials reported that two individuals have been rescued from the debris so far.
Emergency teams, including police, fire department personnel, and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), quickly rushed to the scene to help with rescue operations. The situation is still being managed, and the exact number of casualties is yet to be fully confirmed. Local sources believe that the explosion has caused severe damage to the area.
Maharashtra Congress leader Nana Patole criticized the incident, blaming the Modi government for not ensuring proper safety measures at such factories.
While the cause of the explosion is still under investigation, authorities are working hard to find out what led to this heartbreaking event. Emergency responders, including firefighters and ambulances, were immediately sent to the scene. The roof, which collapsed due to the blast, is being cleared with the help of JCB machines as part of the ongoing rescue efforts.
