Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is out of the ICU and is recovering well, doctors from Lilawati Hospital in Mumbai have confirmed. He was attacked in his apartment late Thursday night when an intruder broke into his home. The intruder stabbed Saif Ali Khan six times, including once in the neck, during the incident. After the attack, doctors performed a five-hour surgery to remove a 2.5-inch piece of the blade that had lodged in his spine.

Dr. Nitin Narayan Dange, one of the doctors treating Saif Ali Khan, stated that the actor is doing great and has been able to walk again without any issues. “He is walking well and there is no major pain," Dr. Dange added. Saif was moved from the ICU to a special room in the hospital, and doctors are being extra cautious due to the injury near his spine, which carries a risk of infection. However, there is no risk of paralysis, according to the doctors.

Niraj Uttamani, the Chief Operating Officer of Lilawati Hospital, shared that Saif Ali Khan walked into the hospital like a “lion,” accompanied by his son, Taimur. "He arrived covered in blood but walked in on his own without a stretcher," Uttamani said. He also mentioned that if the knife had been 2 mm deeper, the injury could have been much more serious.

The attack took place at Saif Ali Khan’s residence in Bandra West, a posh neighborhood in Mumbai, around 2:30 am. The actor was with his wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their two sons, Taimur and Jeh, when the intruder broke in. A nurse named Eliyama Philip, who was caring for the children, and another staff member were also injured during the attack.

According to Eliyama Philip’s statement to the police, she was the first person to see the intruder, who appeared to be between 35 and 40 years old. She described how she was woken by strange noises around 2 am. Initially, she thought it was Kareena checking on her son Jeh, but when she looked again, she saw a man coming out of the bathroom and heading towards Jeh’s room.

Philip said the attacker, armed with a wooden stick and a long Hexa blade, tried to attack her when she rushed to Jeh's room. She was injured on her wrists and fingers but managed to ask the intruder what he wanted. The attacker demanded Rs 1 crore, a sum equivalent to about $120,000.

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan quickly rushed to the scene after hearing Eliyama's screams. When Saif confronted the intruder, he was attacked with both the wooden stick and the blade. However, Saif managed to escape and took his family to safety on another floor of the apartment. The intruder then fled, and police are working to catch him.

The police investigation revealed that the intruder entered the apartment without forcing any doors or windows. He had climbed a nearby wall and entered through a fire escape. The police have formed 20 teams to track down the attacker, who was seen on CCTV near the building after the incident.

The whole family, including Saif Ali Khan, is recovering from the terrifying incident, and the police are continuing their efforts to arrest the intruder.
