Actor Saif Ali Khan was discharged from Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai after spending six days there due to serious injuries. He was attacked with a knife during a burglary attempt at his Bandra home. After leaving the hospital, he returned to his house where heavy police security had been set up.

The actor’s wounds were severe, and doctors revealed that he had suffered six stab injuries. One of the wounds was dangerously close to his spine, just 2mm away, but thankfully, his spinal cord was not harmed. However, spinal fluid leaked out, which required surgery to fix. In addition to this, Saif Ali Khan also needed plastic surgery for cuts on his arm and neck.

Eliyama Philip, who takes care of Saif's children, Taimur and Jeh, was the first to notice the intruder in the house. She was awakened by noises around 2 am and initially thought it was Kareena Kapoor Khan checking on their son. But when she heard more strange sounds, she woke up again and saw a man leaving the bathroom and heading towards the children’s room. Fearing the worst, she quickly went to Jeh’s room. The attacker, holding a wooden stick and a sharp blade, ordered her to stay quiet and not make any noise.

To protect herself, Eliyama tried to stop the attacker by putting her hands out to block the blow, but she was injured on both wrists and the middle finger of her left hand. When she asked the man what he wanted, he demanded money, saying he wanted one crore rupees.

When Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan heard Eliyama’s screams, they rushed out to see what was happening. Saif asked the intruder what he wanted, but the man attacked him with both a wooden object and a knife. Despite being hurt, Saif managed to get away, and they all quickly ran to the upper floor of the house and locked themselves in.

The attacker, after seeing the family flee, escaped from the scene. Police later arrested Shariful Islam Shehzad, a Bangladeshi man who had entered India illegally under a fake name, Bijoy Das. He was arrested for breaking into Saif’s house and attacking him. The police took the suspect to the actor’s house later that day to reenact the crime as part of the investigation.
