Actor Saif Ali Khan was injured during an attempted robbery at his home in Mumbai. He is currently recovering in Lilavati Hospital after undergoing surgery for his injuries.
Kareena Kapoor’s team confirmed the incident, stating that the rest of the family, including Kareena and their sons Taimur and Jeh, are safe. They released a statement saying, "There was an attempted burglary at Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s residence last night. Saif sustained an arm injury and is undergoing treatment at the hospital. The rest of the family is doing well. We ask the media and fans to avoid speculation as the Police are investigating the matter. Thank you for your concern."
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dixit Gedam, the actor had an altercation with the intruder. "An unidentified person intruded into the residence of actor Saif Ali Khan. The actor and the intruder fought. The actor was injured and is being treated. An investigation is ongoing," he said.
The hospital provided more details, saying that Saif Ali Khan had been stabbed multiple times during the attack. "Saif Ali Khan was stabbed at least six times, two of which were deep cuts. One of the stabs was dangerously close to his spine," said Dr. Uttamani from Lilavati Hospital. He also mentioned that Saif had been brought in at 3:30 a.m. and was immediately operated on by a team of doctors led by Neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Dr. Leena Jain, and anaesthesiologist Dr. Nisha Gandhi.
Mumbai police have confirmed that an intruder broke into Saif Ali Khan’s home, and a scuffle took place between them. The police have detained several suspects, and they’ve also caught the intruder who was seen on CCTV.
The family is hoping for Saif's speedy recovery, and the police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
