Nothing Phone (3) to debut in Q1 2025 with groundbreaking AI features

Evan Blass, a well-known smartphone tipster, recently shared an interesting post on X (formerly Twitter), revealing a screenshot of an internal email from Carl Pei, the CEO of Nothing. The email was sent to Nothing’s employees and talked about the company’s exciting plans for 2025, especially focusing on the highly anticipated Nothing Phone (3). In the email, Carl Pei calls the launch of the Phone (3) a “landmark” event that will have the world eagerly waiting to see it.

According to the email, Carl Pei describes 2025 as "Nothing's biggest year yet" and talks about introducing the Phone (3) in the first quarter of the year. The new phone will include “breakthrough innovations in user interface,” making it a smartphone focused on artificial intelligence (AI). This would place the Phone (3) in the same category as top phones like the latest iPhones and Samsung Galaxy models, which also feature advanced AI capabilities.

Nothing has already introduced a few AI features in previous phones, such as a wallpaper generator on the Phone (2a). However, the Phone (3) is expected to take it a step further, offering a full AI-driven experience. Carl Pei mentions that the Phone (3) will "redefine the user experience of personal computing devices" and include "technology that knows you, makes your life easier, and is present wherever you are."

The email also emphasizes that the Phone (3) will have AI technology that understands and responds to different situations, almost like a smart assistant. This AI will also focus on improving privacy and securing user data, making it a safer device to use.

While the email doesn’t reveal all the details or features, other leaks suggest that the Phone (3) might be powered by a Snapdragon 8 series chip, possibly the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or even the upcoming Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. There are also rumors that the Phone (3) could be the first to include a dedicated telephoto camera, marking a significant upgrade for the brand.

Nothing had a successful 2024, with the launch of several mid-range phones like the Phone (2a), Phone (2a) Plus, and CMF Phone (1), which became popular in their categories. However, the company didn’t launch any high-end models in 2024, so the Phone (3) could be the device that fills that gap and brings Nothing into the premium smartphone market.
