Actor Jayam Ravi, known for his work in the Tamil film industry, has decided to drop the moniker "Jayam" from his name after over two decades. The name “Jayam” became part of his identity following his debut in the 2003 film Jayam, which turned out to be a major success. On Monday, the actor announced that he would like to be called by his birth name, Ravi Mohan, going forward.

Ravi shared this update through a heartfelt statement on his social media accounts. In the post, he expressed his deep gratitude for the film industry and the audiences who have supported him throughout his career. He reflected on the love, opportunities, and experiences that cinema has brought into his life. Ravi explained that the decision to embrace his birth name comes from a desire to align his identity with his personal and professional goals.

Ravi wrote, “Cinema has always been my greatest passion and the foundation of my career. It is a world that has shaped who I am today. As I look back on my journey, I feel immense gratitude for the opportunities and support that I have received. I now move into a new chapter of my life and kindly request everyone to address me as Ravi or Ravi Mohan from now on, instead of Jayam Ravi.”

Along with the announcement about his name, Ravi shared some exciting updates about his plans. He revealed that he is launching his own production house, which will be called Ravi Mohan Studios. According to Ravi, this new venture aims to discover and create powerful stories that will inspire and connect with audiences all over the world.

Ravi also announced a meaningful change for his fan clubs. From now on, all his fan clubs will be transformed into the Ravi Mohan Fans Foundation. This organization will focus on helping people in need and supporting charitable causes, reflecting Ravi’s commitment to giving back to the community.

In recent times, Ravi has also been in the news for personal reasons. Earlier in 2024, he confirmed rumors about his separation from his wife, Aarti. The couple, who married in 2009, share two sons, Aarav and Ayaan. Ravi filed for divorce after the separation, while Aarti expressed her surprise at the public announcement of their split.

On the professional front, Ravi was last seen in the films Siren and Brother, released in 2024. His upcoming movie, Kadhalika Neramillai, is set to hit the screens on January 14, just in time for Pongal.
