Fatima Sana Shaikh recently opened up about her casting couch experiences in the film industry, shedding light on the uncomfortable situations she faced early in her career. She shared her story in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, where she talked about how certain people in the industry made her feel uneasy.
Fatima recalled one experience with a casting agent for a South Indian film. The agent repeatedly made strange suggestions, making her feel uncomfortable. He asked, “You will be ready to do everything, right?” Fatima explained that she responded by saying she would work hard and do whatever was required for the role. However, the agent kept pushing her, so she decided to act clueless to see just how far he would go.
In another incident, Fatima spoke about her time in Hyderabad, where she hoped to land a role in a South Indian film that could help her get into Bollywood. During her meetings with the producers, they would make odd, indirect comments like, “You have to meet people” or “You have to do this and that.” Although they never said anything directly, their intentions were clear, and the way they spoke made her feel uncomfortable.
Despite these challenges, Fatima made it clear that not everyone in the industry behaves in this way. She expressed her sadness for those who have experienced such things and said it was heartbreaking to hear some of the terrible stories shared by actors and actresses. Fatima pointed out that even well-known stars have had their share of difficult moments and abuses in the industry.
On the work front, Fatima Sana Shaikh is gearing up for her next project, which is Anurag Basu's romantic drama Metro...In Dino. She will be starring alongside Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, and Ali Fazal. This film is a spiritual sequel to Basu's 2007 hit Life in a... Metro.
Fatima also has another film, Ul Jalool Ishq, directed by Manish Malhotra. The film began production last year and features a talented cast including Vijay Varma, Naseeruddin Shah, and Sharib Hashmi. While the release date is yet to be announced, fans are eagerly waiting to see what she will bring to the screen next.
