The rehearsals for the Republic Day parade are in full swing in New Delhi, bringing an atmosphere of excitement and preparation to the capital. At the same time, the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 is being hosted in New Delhi and Greater Noida, which has added to the city’s busy schedule. To manage traffic during this period, the Delhi Police has issued a detailed advisory to ensure smooth movement and minimize inconvenience to the public. The advisory includes arrangements and restrictions for January 17, 18, 20, and 21, as announced by the police on their official social media account.
As part of the advisory, traffic restrictions will be in place at several key crossings, including Kartavya Path-Rafi Marg, Kartavya Path-Janpath, Kartavya Path-Mansingh Road, and Kartavya Path-C-Hexagon. These restrictions will be enforced from 10:15 am to 12:30 pm on the specified dates to allow the Republic Day parade rehearsals to proceed without disruptions.
Alternate routes have been suggested to accommodate commuters. Those traveling between North and South Delhi can use routes such as Ring Road, Sarai Kale Khan, I.P. Flyover, Rajghat, Lajpat Rai Marg, Mathura Road, Bhairon Road, Aurobindo Marg, Safdarjung Road, Kamal Attaturk Marg, and Kautilaya Marg, for those traveling between East and Southwest Delhi, Ring Road via Vande Matram Marg is recommended. Travelers heading to or from Vinay Marg, Shanti Path, and New Delhi areas can take Sardar Patel Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, RML roundabout, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, or Park Street-Mandir Marg.
The Delhi Police has urged motorists to follow traffic rules, remain patient, and cooperate with traffic officials. People have been advised to plan their journeys to avoid delays and disruptions.
Meanwhile, the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 is being held at Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi in New Delhi, as well as the India Expo Center and Mart in Greater Noida. Scheduled from January 17 to January 22, the event showcases innovations and advancements in mobility, attracting participants and visitors from around the world.
India will celebrate its 76th Republic Day on Sunday, January 26. The parade at Kartavya Path will begin at 10 a.m., with this year’s theme being "Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas," which highlights the country’s heritage and progress. Delhi Police’s measures aim to ensure that both the parade rehearsals and the expo proceed smoothly while minimizing inconvenience to the public.
