Delhi Airport to Suspend Flights for Two Hours Daily from January 19 to 26, Delhi International Airport (DIAL) announced that it will suspend flight operations for over two hours each day from January 19 to 26 due to Republic Day preparations. There will be no flights arriving or departing between 10:20 AM and 12:45 PM IST during these days.
DIAL shared this information through a post on X (formerly Twitter), explaining that this temporary halt in flight services is in place to support Republic Day rehearsals and security measures. The airport operator advised passengers to check with their airlines for updates on flight schedules.
In addition to the suspension at Delhi Airport, Imphal Airport also issued a notice mentioning that flight schedules would be impacted during the same period. For example, IndiGo flight 6E2617 from Delhi to Imphal will experience changes due to airspace restrictions.
Passengers traveling to and from Delhi during this period are urged to allow extra time before heading to the airport. Air India advised passengers to check the status of their flights before traveling, as there might be delays caused by the Republic Day restrictions. IndiGo also issued a travel advisory, reminding passengers that security procedures may take longer than usual due to heightened measures at airports.
Along with the air travel disruptions, Delhi Police have issued a traffic advisory. Certain roads in the city, including Kartavyapath, Rafi Marg Crossing, Janpath Crossing, Maningh Road Crossing, and C-Hexagon, will experience traffic restrictions. Commuters are advised to plan their routes ahead of time to avoid delays.
To ensure smooth travel during this period, all travelers are encouraged to stay updated on flight statuses and be prepared for possible delays at both the airport and on the roads.
