Budget Session of Parliament from Jan 31 to Apr 4, Union Budget on Feb 1

The Budget Session of Parliament for 2025 will begin on January 31 and run until April 4, with 27 sittings scheduled during this period. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present her eighth consecutive Union Budget on February 1.

Kiren Rijiju, the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, announced on X (formerly Twitter) that President Droupadi Murmu has approved the session’s schedule. The session will begin with a joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament on January 31 at 11 AM, where the President will address the members in the Lok Sabha.

The Union Budget for 2025-26 will be presented in the Lok Sabha on February 1. After the budget is presented, Parliament will break for a recess to allow time for reviewing the budget proposals. The session will resume on March 10 to discuss the demands for grants from various ministries and continue the budgetary process.

The Budget Session will conclude on April 4.
