Body of woman found in Kasol hotel, murder case filed.

A murder case has been filed after the body of a 23-year-old woman was found abandoned in a hotel in Kasol, located in the Manikaran Valley, late on Saturday night. The woman’s body was left at the hotel reception by two young men, who had been staying with her. These men are now on the run, and the police are looking for them.

The woman, whose identity has not been confirmed yet, had been staying in room number 904 of the hotel with two men, Akash Deep Singh, a resident of Bathinda, Punjab, and another person, since January 10.

Around 12:30 am on Saturday, the receptionist and two hotel staff members were having dinner in the hotel restaurant after their shift. The two youths appeared carrying the unconscious woman—one holding her head and the other holding her feet. They claimed that she had fainted after falling in the bathroom and needed to be taken to the hospital. They even asked the receptionist for directions to the nearest hospital.

The receptionist felt something was off and asked the youths to wait while she checked with the hotel manager and arranged for help. However, before she could do anything, the youths abandoned the woman at the entrance and quickly fled in a black SUV with a Punjab registration number.

When the hotel staff checked on the woman, they became suspicious. They called the police, who arrived at the hotel and rushed her to the hospital. Unfortunately, doctors confirmed her death.

The receptionist told the police that the way the youths were carrying the unconscious woman and their quick disappearance raised doubts. She also noticed foam coming from the woman’s mouth. The youths had told the hotel staff that the woman had consumed too much alcohol, which caused her to fall and lose consciousness. But the staff believed there was more to the story.

Kullu’s Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Sanjeev Chauhan, said the police have recorded the statements of the hotel staff. He added that the suspects are still on the run, and the police are setting up checkpoints to catch them. The police are also investigating the woman’s background to find out more about her.

This incident is the second murder in Manikaran Valley in less than a week. On Tuesday, an elderly woman who ran a homestay was murdered by unknown assailants during a robbery. The suspects in both cases are still at large, and no arrests have been made so far.
