Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), the port-operating branch of the Adani Group, has been recognized as one of the top 10 companies in the transportation and infrastructure sector globally in the 2024 S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). This achievement was shared through a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Ashwini Gupta, the Whole-Time Director and CEO of APSEZ expressed pride in the company’s performance. He stated, "We firmly believe that responsible business practices drive innovation and long-term success. This recognition reflects our dedication to sustainability and corporate responsibility." He also mentioned that the company remains focused on achieving its Net Zero target by 2040.
In this year’s CSA, Adani Ports scored 68 out of 100, which is a three-point improvement compared to last year’s score. The company also earned the top spot in the environment category, which highlights its commitment to reducing its environmental impact. Notably, Adani Ports was the only Indian company to make it to the top 10 list in the transportation sector for the 2024 assessment.
S&P Global's 2024 Corporate Sustainability Assessment covered 318 companies in the transport and infrastructure sector, with Adani Ports standing out as a leader in sustainability.
Adani Ports is part of the Adani Group that focuses on port operations. The company owns and operates several ports and terminals along India’s coastline. On the West Coast, it has seven ports, including those in Mundra, Tuna Tekra, Kandla, Dahej, Hazira, Mormugao, and Vizhinjam in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, and Kerala. On the East Coast, APSEZ operates eight ports in various states, including West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry.
On January 8, Adani Ports' shares closed at ₹1,152.65, down by 1.89% from the previous market session, which had ended at ₹1,174.80.
