6 Gorkha Rifles jawans injured in accidental mine blast near LoC in Rajouri

At least six soldiers of the Indian Army were injured on Tuesday morning in an accidental mine blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir. The unfortunate incident occurred around 10:45 AM during a routine patrol conducted by a troop from the Gorkha Rifles near Khamba Fort.

The explosion took place in the Makri area of the Bhawani sector, causing injuries to the soldiers. The injured personnel were immediately given first aid and later transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Their condition is being monitored by medical teams.

Landmines are part of an anti-infiltration system used to secure forward areas along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir. However, heavy rains sometimes displace these mines, leading to accidents like this one. This highlights the risks faced by troops operating in such challenging terrains.

Authorities are investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the blast to ensure such incidents are minimized in the future. The Indian Army continues to remain vigilant in protecting the nation's borders while prioritizing the safety of its personnel.
