His Highness Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has approved the construction of a new three-lane bridge to improve traffic movement in the emirate.
The bridge will connect Mleiha Road to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Bridge at the intersection of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street and Mleiha Road. The total cost of the project is estimated at AED 140 million.
Authorities confirmed that construction work will begin immediately, with the project expected to be completed within one year.
The new bridge is designed to improve traffic flow in all directions and reduce congestion in the area. Officials said the project is expected to cut travel time by around nine minutes, helping motorists move more smoothly across one of Sharjah’s busy road networks.
The project is part of Sharjah’s ongoing infrastructure development plans aimed at enhancing road connectivity and improving daily transportation for residents and visitors.
