Dubai Press Club (DPC) organised a dialogue session titled “The Future of Regional Relations following the Iranian Aggression”. The session featured His Excellency Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence Affairs, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee at the Federal National Council (FNC).
The event was attended by Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, and Maryam Al Mulla, Director of the Dubai Press Club. Senior media leaders, content creators, and professionals from the media and political sectors also attended.
During the session, Dr. Al Nuaimi spoke about major changes shaping the region and how they are affecting regional relations amid fast-changing geopolitical conditions. He also highlighted both challenges and opportunities at regional and international levels.
He stated that the recent aggression against the UAE and Gulf countries showed the strength and resilience of Emirati institutions. He said there was strong coordination between national institutions in protecting the country and its achievements, which surprised many observers due to the high level of readiness and performance.
Dr. Al Nuaimi stressed that the UAE places people at the centre of its priorities. He referred to incidents where thousands of stranded travellers at airports were supported, accommodated, and assisted, reflecting the country’s humanitarian approach.
He also underlined the importance of media, saying it plays a role as important as defence, security, and the economy in protecting the nation. He described media professionals as the voice of the country and said modern challenges are not only military but also related to media awareness and responsibility.
He added that the UAE continues to strengthen its defence, political, and economic systems while also working on reshaping regional and international relations. According to him, the country is adjusting its national priorities based on changing global realities, with national interest as the top priority.
Dr. Al Nuaimi said the UAE focuses on building real partnerships based on mutual interests rather than slogans, aiming for long-term and stable relations.
He also referred to security developments, saying that the country uncovered and dismantled a terrorist cell linked to the Iranian regime that was allegedly planning to target national security. He praised UAE security agencies for their successful action in handling the situation.
On Iran, he emphasized the importance of separating the Iranian government from its people, stating that ordinary people are often the main victims. He also said the UAE respects and treats the Iranian community in the country equally, without politicising their presence.
Dr. Al Nuaimi warned against misleading media narratives and stressed the need for awareness and accurate understanding of regional issues. He reaffirmed that the UAE remains committed to peace, stability, dialogue, and cooperation.
He concluded by praising the Dubai Press Club for its role in creating a strong platform for dialogue and supporting Dubai’s position as a regional and global media hub.
