The UAE’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure participated in the World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition held in Rotterdam, a major global platform that brings together policymakers, experts, and industry leaders to discuss the future of hydrogen and sustainable energy systems.
The UAE also took part in the International Hydrogen Trade Forum during the event. The forum focused on global strategies to strengthen hydrogen trade and improve the integration of international supply chains.
According to the ministry, the UAE’s participation reflects its strong commitment to strengthening its position as a global hub for low-emission hydrogen, in line with the country’s National Hydrogen Strategy.
This strategy aims to build a fully integrated hydrogen ecosystem that includes production, transport, storage, and utilisation. It also supports the UAE’s long-term goals of achieving climate neutrality and ensuring energy security.
During the summit, the ministry highlighted the importance of international cooperation between governments, the private sector, financial institutions, and technology providers. It said such collaboration is essential to building a sustainable global hydrogen economy and supporting the transition to cleaner and more resilient energy systems.
The ministry also stressed the need to align international, regional, and local hydrogen standards. This alignment is important to support market growth and speed up cross-border hydrogen trade, especially across complex global supply chains.
In addition, the UAE showcased its efforts to support decarbonisation in key sectors. These include developing guiding policies for sustainable aviation fuel, promoting innovation, and expanding international partnerships that support the shift to a low-emission economy.
The ministry said the UAE continues to promote an energy transition model based on diversification, innovation, and strategic partnerships. This approach aims to strengthen its global competitiveness in future energy sectors while supporting sustainable development goals and the green economy.
