DIEZ and VOLT UAE have announced a joint venture to develop a new advanced AI-ready data centre in Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO). The project aims to strengthen Dubai’s position as a global hub for digital technology and artificial intelligence.
The announcement was made in the presence of senior officials, including Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Executive Chairman of DIEZ, Han de Groot, CEO of VOLT, Koenraad Crooijmans from VOLT, and Amel Chadli, President of Gulf Cluster at Schneider Electric.
The upcoming facility will cover up to 60,000 square metres and will be developed in two phases. The first phase will deliver 29 MW of ready capacity, followed by an additional 100 MW of planned power in the next phase.
The data centre is designed to support advanced AI and high-performance computing. It will feature strong infrastructure, reinforced design, redundant systems, and high security to ensure uninterrupted operations and maximum reliability.
Under the agreement, DIEZ will provide land and core infrastructure for the project. VOLT UAE will lead development, financing, construction, leasing, and operations of the facility.
Schneider Electric, based in Dubai Silicon Oasis, will provide advanced electrical systems, smart infrastructure, and power distribution solutions. This will help improve efficiency, sustainability, and overall performance of the data centre.
Officials said the project aligns with Dubai’s D33 economic agenda and supports the AED 11 billion District IO development, which focuses on future technologies, innovation, and research growth in the region.
DIEZ said the partnership reflects strong global investor confidence in Dubai’s digital ecosystem and its future-focused economic model.
VOLT UAE described the facility as an “AI factory” that will convert energy into computing power for large-scale artificial intelligence development.
Schneider Electric added that the project will set new global standards for AI-ready data centres through its integrated solutions from power systems to cooling and monitoring technologies.
The project highlights Dubai’s commitment to building world-class digital infrastructure to support the growing demand for artificial intelligence and advanced computing in the region.
