Under the patronage of Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi attended the graduation ceremony of the 24th batch of officer cadets at the Sharjah Police Academy.
The ceremony, held at the academy’s headquarters in University City, also honoured university graduates who completed the qualifying programme for the rank of lieutenant. The Deputy Ruler was welcomed by senior officials, including Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi and Sheikh Dr Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, alongside police commanders and academic leaders.
The event began with the UAE national anthem and a recitation from the Holy Quran. In his address, Brigadier Dr Mohammed Khamis Al-Othmani, Director of the Academy, highlighted that the graduation reflects the UAE’s continuous commitment to security, stability, and knowledge-driven progress.
He emphasised that the nation’s achievements in safety and development are guided by the vision of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He also expressed appreciation for the ongoing support of Sharjah’s leadership in advancing police education and training.
The Academy, he noted, continues to evolve by integrating advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual training systems. These innovations aim to prepare future officers with both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise to meet modern security challenges.
During the ceremony, attendees watched a presentation showcasing the Academy’s role in developing qualified security personnel, followed by a disciplined military parade demonstrating the cadets’ training and readiness.
The Deputy Ruler honoured top graduates by awarding the prestigious Sword of Honour and recognising the Parade Commander. The ceremony also included the symbolic handover of the flag from the 24th to the 25th batch, representing continuity and responsibility.
Graduates then took their official oath, marking the beginning of their service to the nation. The event concluded with a group photograph and the distribution of certificates by Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police.
The graduating class included 44 officer cadets who completed a comprehensive four-year programme combining police sciences, legal studies, and field training. Additionally, 12 graduates successfully completed a specialised programme qualifying them for the rank of lieutenant, focused on legal expertise, policing skills, and leadership development.
This milestone underscores the UAE’s commitment to building a highly skilled and future-ready security force.
