H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, the Ruler of Fujairah, was present at the Commemoration Day ceremony held at Wahat Al Karama in Abu Dhabi. He was joined by H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes Affairs. This significant event recognized the bravery and sacrifices of UAE heroes who laid down their lives for the nation.
During the ceremony, Sheikh Hamad placed a wreath at the national monument and awarded the Martyr’s Medal to four families of courageous heroes who sacrificed themselves to safeguard the UAE. This ceremony underscored the commitment of the nation to honor its fallen.
An impressive aerial display featured fighter jets flying in the formation of the Unknown Soldier, symbolizing the valor and dedication of the UAE’s departed heroes. This tribute deeply moved the attendees.
Prominent figures from the UAE attended the ceremony, including H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah; H.H. Lt General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; and H.H. Sheikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Their attendance highlighted the national unity in honoring these heroes.
Other attendees included notable dignitaries like Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, as well as Senior Military Officials and the UAE Ambassador to Jordan, Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, among others.
Families of martyrs, high-ranking officials, military personnel, and guests were also part of this solemn gathering, creating an atmosphere of pride and respect. The ceremony showcased the UAE’s unwavering dedication to honoring its heroes and supporting their families.
Wahat Al Karama stands as a national memorial for those who have fallen in service. This Commemoration Day event reinforced values of bravery, patriotism, and unity, with wreath-laying ceremonies, medal presentations, and ceremonial tributes ensuring that the sacrifices made by our martyrs are forever remembered.
