Kenya Airways has officially resumed its flights to and from Dubai starting Thursday, May 14, after a temporary suspension of operations on the route.
In a statement released on Wednesday, May 13, the airline confirmed that it will initially operate daily flights between Nairobi and Dubai. The carrier also announced plans to gradually increase flight frequencies depending on passenger demand and operational requirements.
The airline stated that restoring the Dubai route is part of its efforts to improve connectivity and provide reliable travel options for passengers travelling between Kenya and the UAE.
Kenya Airways further assured travellers that passenger and crew safety remains its top priority as operations resume. The airline said it is working closely with relevant aviation authorities to ensure smooth and safe flight services.
The resumption comes weeks after Qatar Civil Aviation Authority announced the gradual reopening of Qatar’s airspace to foreign airlines. In a notice issued on April 20, the authority confirmed that international flight operations through Hamad International Airport would resume in phases following a detailed assessment of operational readiness and safety measures.
According to the aviation regulator, all flights and airport operations are being carried out under internationally recognised safety and security standards to ensure the protection of passengers and aviation personnel.
The reopening of regional air routes is expected to support travel and business activities across the Middle East and Africa while improving international flight connectivity.
