Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan reviewed the latest developments in the energy and water sectors in Al Ain Region, along with major strategic projects aimed at improving infrastructure readiness and ensuring sustainable services for the community.
The updates were presented during a meeting with a delegation from the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy and TAQA, led by Dr Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Department of Energy.
During the meeting, Sheikh Hazza was briefed on plans designed to strengthen resilience and improve crisis response readiness in the energy and water sectors. Officials also discussed measures to ensure uninterrupted services during emergencies and changing conditions, supporting the long-term security and sustainability of these essential sectors in Al Ain Region.
The discussion included updates on several strategic infrastructure projects, including expansion and development plans that match the region’s growing population and urban development. The projects aim to improve operational efficiency and provide better services to residents.
The meeting also reviewed the performance of companies operating in the energy and water sectors based on approved strategic and technical indicators. Officials highlighted ongoing efforts to improve operational efficiency, service quality, and overall performance in line with international standards and best practices.
Sheikh Hazza stressed the importance of continuing to develop the infrastructure ecosystem for power and water services through advanced technologies and artificial intelligence. He said these efforts will strengthen sustainability practices, support comprehensive development, and improve future readiness and resilience across both sectors.
The delegation expressed appreciation to Sheikh Hazza and the UAE leadership for their continued support of the energy and water sectors. They reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of services in line with the UAE’s long-term development vision.
The meeting was also attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Engineer Ahmed Mohamed Al Rumaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Energy, and Jasim Husain Thabet, Group CEO and Managing Director of TAQA, along with several officials from both organisations.
