CASABLANCA-SETTAT, Morocco — His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, presided on Friday at the Royal Palace in Casablanca over the official presentation and launch ceremony of a major industrial project led by the Safran Group.
The initiative involves the construction of a state-of-the-art aircraft landing gear production plant in Nouaceur, reinforcing Morocco’s growing position as a preferred destination for global aerospace investment and a fully integrated industrial player within international value chains.
The future manufacturing facility, which will be one of Safran Landing Systems’ largest production centres worldwide, represents an investment exceeding €280 million. The project is expected to generate 500 direct jobs and will operate using 100% decarbonised energy, supporting Morocco’s commitment to sustainable industrial growth. In addition, the project is anticipated to attract new suppliers and strengthen the country’s aerospace ecosystem by expanding local industrial integration.
The plant will be developed on a site spanning more than seven hectares, within the Midparc integrated aeronautics and space platform, located in the Nouaceur province. Designed to meet the highest international standards, the factory will be equipped with modern, high-performance industrial systems and advanced production tools.
Once operational, the facility will provide Morocco with high-level industrial capabilities in several key areas, including:

The production site will be dedicated to landing gear systems for the Airbus A320, supporting the ramp-up of aircraft production while also helping prepare the supply chain for next-generation aircraft programs.
During the ceremony, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, highlighted that Morocco has, in just two decades, risen to become a world-class aerospace platform. He emphasized that Safran—present in Morocco for more than 25 years—holds a strategic role in supporting the sector’s move upmarket and in strengthening national industrial competitiveness.
Mezzour added that manufacturing landing gear systems locally reflects Morocco’s growing mastery of complex and advanced technologies. He also noted that the project creates significant prospects for Moroccan youth, pointing out that the aerospace sector already employs around 25,000 skilled talents across the Kingdom.
Safran Chairman Ross McInnes welcomed the continuation of the long-standing partnership between Safran and Morocco. He recalled the launch last October of the aircraft engine industrial complex, also held under the presidency of His Majesty the King, and stressed that the new project will contribute directly to Safran’s global industrial strategy and Airbus production needs.
At the conclusion of the event, His Majesty King Mohammed VI presided over the signing of the memorandum of understanding formalizing the project and marking a new milestone in Morocco’s industrial development strategy.
This major investment reflects the strong momentum driven by the Sovereign to position Morocco as a competitive global industrial platform, capable of producing high-value aerospace components while meeting sustainability and technological excellence standards.
