The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), in partnership with Majalis Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority, has launched the “Entrepreneurial Families Initiative” in the Al Ain Region to support families and households interested in starting and growing businesses.
The initiative aims to encourage greater participation of entrepreneurial families in Abu Dhabi’s economy and support the emirate’s vision of building a diversified and knowledge-based economy driven by innovation and entrepreneurship.
As part of the programme, a series of awareness workshops will be organised across different locations in Al Ain. These workshops will guide participants on how to set up businesses, obtain licences, and access government support services available within Abu Dhabi’s business ecosystem.
The initiative will be delivered through community platforms in cooperation with Majalis Abu Dhabi to ensure direct engagement with local communities and target audiences.
The programme is part of ADDED’s wider efforts to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), strengthen private sector participation, and promote sustainable economic growth by simplifying market entry and increasing awareness of business regulations.
The workshops will also help participants understand the services and regulations provided by the Abu Dhabi Registration Authority, which works under ADDED to regulate and develop the business sector in the emirate.
Key topics in the workshops include business registration procedures, licensing requirements, regulatory guidelines, and available support services for entrepreneurs.
Following the workshops, specialised training programmes will be conducted throughout the year in Al Ain. These training sessions will focus on areas such as e-commerce, financial management, and opportunities in the digital economy and priority sectors.
His Excellency Hamad Sayah Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of ADDED, said the initiative reflects Abu Dhabi’s commitment to expanding participation in economic development and strengthening the emirate’s position as a competitive and future-ready economy.
He added that Al Ain Region continues to play an important role in Abu Dhabi’s economic growth plans, noting that new economic licences issued in the region increased by 29 percent during 2025.
His Excellency Mohammed Alshaiba Al Sharyani, Acting Director General of Economic Affairs at ADDED, said the initiative was launched in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Department of Community Development, Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, Majalis Abu Dhabi, and key e-commerce partners to provide communities with the necessary skills and business knowledge.
He said the initiative is designed to help participants benefit from Abu Dhabi’s business-friendly ecosystem while supporting inclusive economic development, job creation, and productivity growth across the emirate.
