Dubai, September 22, 2025 — The Community Development Authority (CDA) has unveiled the ‘Community Majlis Consultant’ initiative, a pioneering platform designed to offer residents direct guidance and advisory support on life and family matters. This step underscores Dubai’s commitment to building a cohesive, socially aware, and resilient community.
Launched under the ‘Year of Community 2025’ campaign and as part of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, the initiative revives the traditional Emirati majlis in a modern format, creating interactive spaces where residents can discuss personal concerns and family challenges with licensed psychological and social specialists. While these sessions provide professional guidance, the CDA clarifies that they do not replace psychological treatment.

The program focuses on key topics including parenting styles, children’s personality development, marital relationships, coping with stress, managing chronic illnesses, and understanding psychological disorders. The CDA aims to equip community members with practical tools to address modern-day challenges, strengthen family bonds, and foster healthier social connections.
Reem Obaid Al Awabed, Director of Social Programs at the CDA, said: “This initiative reflects our belief that every individual deserves to be heard and supported. By offering open dialogue grounded in knowledge, we aim to transform challenges into opportunities for personal and family growth, reinforcing social cohesion and stability in our community.”
Through the ‘Community Majlis Consultant,’ the CDA aspires to create safe spaces for expression, instill hope, and strengthen Dubai’s social fabric, reinforcing the city’s vision to be a leading hub for wellbeing, happiness, and quality of life.
