During a police operation in Kelantan, Malaysia, a woman was apprehended, and five firearms were confiscated, all part of a crackdown on illegal wildlife activities. The raid was executed at a residence in Kampung Miak, Kuala Krai, based on intelligence regarding suspicious behavior.
This operation fell under Ops Bersepadu Khazanah, coordinated by several agencies including the Royal Malaysia Police and the Kelantan Forestry Department, to tackle wildlife crimes and other illicit activities.
Southeast Brigade General Operations Force Commander Ahmad Radzi Hussain reported that the operation commenced around 6:45 PM, with enforcing officers identifying themselves and presenting their authority before inspecting the property.
During the search, five various firearms were located within the premises, raising alarms about potential connections to the illegal wildlife activities under investigation.
The detained woman is expected to assist authorities with their ongoing investigation, particularly regarding violations of the Firearms Act. Details concerning her identity or any association with wildlife trafficking efforts remain undisclosed.
