AD Ports Group and Borouge Plc have signed a new partnership agreement to explore expanded cooperation aimed at improving export resilience and operational flexibility in the UAE.
The agreement focuses on studying the development of an alternative international export hub on the UAE’s East Coast. The project is expected to become an important part of Borouge’s long-term export strategy and help strengthen the continuity of exports through a more resilient logistics network.
Under the partnership, both companies will work together by using AD Ports Group’s marine connectivity and port services at Fujairah Terminals and other eastern port facilities in the UAE. The two sides will also assess the possibility of developing dedicated polyolefins infrastructure on the East Coast.
The collaboration aims to reduce reliance on congested maritime routes and improve vessel scheduling and shipping flexibility. Both companies will also engage with shipping lines to explore new export routes through Fujairah Terminals.
The initiative is expected to support stable and reliable export operations through a diversified network of ports and logistics facilities, while strengthening the UAE’s position as a global logistics and industrial hub.
Saif Al Mazrouei, Chief Executive Officer of Ports Cluster at AD Ports Group, said the company looks forward to working with Borouge to explore opportunities that support industrial exports and strengthen regional and global trade connectivity.
Borouge Plc Chief Executive Officer Hazeem Sultan Al Suwaidi said the partnership marks a major step in enhancing the company’s logistics capabilities and supports its future growth plans. He added that the collaboration will help create a more flexible and diversified export network while ensuring continuity of supply for global customers.
Borouge Plc is currently the largest exporter through AD Ports Group. The latest agreement further strengthens the long-standing partnership between the two companies, which began in 2001.
