The guideline emphasizes accessibility for people of all ages and abilities, including children and People of Determination. It incorporates ramps, adaptive play areas, and fully equipped facilities while conserving sensitive ecosystems in line with global best practices.
To enhance visitor experience, the document outlines a range of services such as inclusive restrooms, prayer rooms, family picnic zones, sports grounds, and smart parking systems. It also sets standards for supporting infrastructure, including walkways, cycling paths, retail kiosks, lifeguard towers, and mobility aid rentals. Safety measures like traffic calming, targeted lighting, and clear wayfinding are also included to ensure secure and navigable beachfronts.
The guideline forms part of Abu Dhabi’s broader commitment to sustainable urban growth and the Year of Community, aiming to create inviting, well-connected, and environmentally responsible public spaces that can be enjoyed year-round.
